It provides mobile dynamic random access memory (DRAM) devices, such as pseudo static random access memory (SRAM), low power SDR synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM), low power double-data-rate (DDR) SDRAM, and low power DDR2 SDRAM products; and specialty DRAM products, including SDRAM, DDR SDRAM, DDR2 SDRAM, DDR3 SDRAM, and KGD products. The company also offers code storage flash memory products consisting of serial and parallel NOR, serial and SLC NAND, and TrustME secure flash memory products, as well as parallel flash and serial flash KGD products; and logic IC products. Its products are used in automotive, mobile/networking, computing, consumer, and industrial applications, as well as used in wearable devices. The company markets its products through distributors and online. In addition, it engages in the wholesale of computer, supplement, and software products; design, sale, and after-sales service of semiconductors; provision of repair, testing, and consultancy services for software, as well as project sale; and electronic commerce and product marketing activities. NanoLock and Winbond to Unveil Secure Cloud Controller Flash Memory for IoT Devices at Electronica 2018

NanoLock Security and Winbond will debut the solution to securely protect and manage IoT devices from the device’s persistent memory all the way to the cloud at electronica 2018, November 13 to 16, Messe Munich. The joint solution, available for demonstrations in Hall B5 Booth 520, provides embedded lightweight, ironclad security and manages flash memory, controlled from the cloud. The NanoLock and Winbond end-to-end solution ensures IoT devices, such as automotive ECUs/MCUs, cameras, ICS solutions and routers, are protected as well as managed from the cloud. The OS/CPU agnostic solution guarantees flash-to-cloud integrity and mutual protection during regular operations and firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) updates, from the production line and through and after the device’s end of life, all regardless of available processor power, energy consumption and even if the end device is inevitably hacked.

Winbond Electronics Corporation Introduces New SpiFlash® Flash Storage Components with Replay-Protected Monotonic Counter

Winbond Electronics Corporation announced the introduction of new SpiFlash® Flash storage components with Replay-Protected Monotonic Counter (RPMC) capability to meet Microsoft and Intel requirements for Windows® 10 Secure UEFI Boot. The new RPMC Flash parts operate from a supply voltage of 1.8V and are available in densities of 128Mbits and 256Mbits. These new SpiFlash parts add to the existing W25R family of 3V RPMC Flash parts in 64Mbit, 128Mbit and 256Mbit densities. The security capabilities of the SpiFlash W25R Flash memory ICs fully comply with the RPMC specification defined by Intel to support its PC processor chipsets. The use of RPMC Flash protects critical data, preserves the confidentiality and integrity of the PC, and prevents rollback attacks to which standard Flash memory devices are vulnerable. The data which should be stored on RPMC Flash includes: the BIOS settings; UEFI variables; TPM (Trusted Platform Module) data while stored in external memory. The Winbond SpiFlash RPMC parts also conform to the Microsoft specifications for UEFI secure boot, which it says will be mandatory from 2020 on all client PCs based on the Windows 10 operating platform.
