Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Limited announced the appointment of Mr. Mark Currie and Colonel Johnny Sexwale as non-executive directors of the Company. Mark is a Chartered Accountant who has worked in Investment banking for the past 25 years. His involvement in horseracing started as a bookmaker clerk in 1985. He has served as a director of the Racing Association and is current chairman of the Thoroughbred Horseracing Trust and Co-chairman of Kenilworth Racing. Johnny Sexwale Johnny was appointed to the rank of a Colonel in the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). He is currently a Reserve Officer. The Minister of Defence & Military Veterans of the SANDF appointed Colonel Sexwale to the Reserve Force Council (RFC). Johnny served and continues to serve on several Boards of State owned and Private entities such as Mantuba Investments, the Gauteng Gambling Board, and the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation. The appointment of Mr. Currie is with immediate effect. Colonel Sexwale's appointment is subject To Approve the relevant regulatory authorities.

Profit before finance costs, income tax, depreciation and amortization was ZAR 87,708,000 compared to ZAR 120,236,000 a year ago. Profit from operations was ZAR 17,315,000 compared to ZAR 49,029,000 a year ago. Profit before income tax expense was ZAR 152,453,000 compared to ZAR 152,243,000 a year ago. Profit attributable to equity holders of the parent was ZAR 155,112,000 compared to ZAR 146,520,000 a year ago.
